Even the best archival products do not help in an adverse storage environment. Don't store your scrapbooks, photos and negatives in hot attics or damp basements. High humidity, heat, light, pollutants and vermin will all cause problems. Humidity will promote mold growth, which will eat away at your images. High temperature accelerates the chemical deterioration of color prints. UV rays from sunlight or artificial light will fade images.
